Overseas Basketball Camp in Taipei, Taiwan
Playing basketball in another country shows a young player their game from a new angle. The coaches teach with different habits, the opponents move at a different rhythm, and every session asks something fresh. That is the thinking behind our overseas basketball camp in Taipei this December.
Here is what the week involves, who it suits, and how to register your interest while places remain.
Our overseas basketball camp runs in Taipei, Taiwan, from Tuesday 15 to Monday 21 December 2026, during the Singapore school holidays. It is built for players aged 10 to 14 at intermediate to advanced level, and combines training sessions, friendly matches, sessions with local schools, academies and clubs, and time to tour Taiwan. Places are limited, so message us to register your interest.

Why We Chose Taipei
Basketball is one of the best-loved sports in Taiwan, and the game runs deep through its schools.
Taiwan’s High School Basketball League brings school teams together every season, and its Final Four rounds are covered by the national press. For our players, that means meeting young teams who come from a system built around school competition.
Seeing how their peers in another basketball culture prepare, compete and carry themselves gives our players fresh ideas to bring home to their own training.
What Happens During the Overseas Basketball Camp
The week mixes training, competition and time off the court, so players grow as athletes and enjoy the city together.

Training Sessions and Friendly Matches
Players work through structured training sessions with our coaches, then put that work to use in friendly matches. Facing unfamiliar opponents tests decision making in a way home drills rarely can, because every read on the court has to be made fresh.
Time with Local Schools, Academies and Clubs
A highlight of the week is sharing the court with local schools, academies and clubs. Training alongside Taiwanese players gives our group a direct look at how the game is taught and played there, from warm-ups to game tempo.
Touring Taiwan and Free and Easy Sessions
The camp also sets aside time to tour Taiwan, along with free and easy sessions. These breaks give players room to rest, explore Taipei together and share the trip as a team, which is a big part of what makes a week like this memorable.
Who the Overseas Basketball Camp Suits
The camp is designed for players aged 10 to 14 who already play at an intermediate to advanced level. That usually means a player who trains every week, plays for a school or club team, and is comfortable with the core skills, so the week can focus on competition and growth.
Players preparing for a school team selection or a new season next year tend to gain the most. A week of matches against new opponents shows clearly where their game stands, and gives them specific things to work on when they return to weekly training.
For a child who is newer to the game, our kids basketball classes are the right first step, and an overseas trip can follow once they are ready for it.
Travelling with Coaches Who Have Played Abroad
Our coaches have represented their polytechnics and universities at the POL-ITE Games, and play or have played in the National Basketball League (Men) Division 1.
Our coaches and players have also travelled to Thailand and Malaysia to play in local leagues and invitation cups. Taipei builds on those trips, and you can meet the team on our coaches page.
How the Trip Fits the School Holidays
The Ministry of Education’s 2026 school calendar sets the year-end holiday from Saturday 21 November to Thursday 31 December 2026 for primary and secondary schools. The camp week sits in the middle of that break, leaving the weeks around it free for family plans.
For players staying in Singapore over the holidays, our guide to basketball holiday camps in Singapore covers the local options and when to book them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my child need a visa to visit Taiwan?
Singapore passport holders can enter Taiwan visa-free for up to 30 days, according to Taiwan’s Bureau of Consular Affairs. A week-long camp sits well within that allowance.
How long must my child's passport remain valid?
Taiwan asks for a passport with at least six months of validity remaining on the date of entry. Check the expiry date early, since a renewal takes time to arrange before December.
What else will my child need at the border?
Visa-free visitors to Taiwan need a confirmed return ticket, or an onward ticket with a visa for the next destination. We will share the flight arrangements with every registered family once they are confirmed.
